ROCKRIDGE OUT AND ABOUT

This street festival wraps up the summer with great live music, health  
forums, fashion shows, delicious food, local vendors, and more.  
Oaklandish will be holding it down at the corner of College and Chabot  
all day (at the Claremont Ave. end of the festival).

OAKLAND UNWRAPPED FULL MOON BUY NIGHT
Thursday, October 1st, 5:30-9:30pm
The Fall is coming soon, but festival season ain't over yet. Come down  
to Jack London Square for a night market featuring local merchants and  
artisans, live music, and ice-skating. (OK, maybe it's not summer  
anymore).

Saturday, October 10, 11am-6pm
Oakland's family-friendly craft beer festival. Biergarten, eco fair  
and kids' area, live music, good eats, German-style homebrew  
competition.

PACIFIC COAST BREWING CO. BLOCK PARTY
Friday, October 16th, 5-11pm
Washington St. between 9th and 10th in Old Oakland.
Oaklandish will be at this free event, celebrating the 21st  
anniversary of Pacific Coast Brewing Co. with live music and lots of  
beer! The party continues Saturday, October 17th with 1988 beer prices  
all day.

LINDEN ST. BREWERY presents "BRATS & BEER"
Saturday, October 17th, noon-5pm
Linden St. Brewery (#8 Linden St. @ 3rd St.)
Join us at Linden Street Brewery for a great party co-sponsored by  
Rotary Club of Oakland, Van Every Construction, Oakland Events, and  
Oaklandish. All proceeds benefit BACS’ Thanksgiving holiday food  
basket distribution, and the Oakland Rotary Community Endowment. Come  
through to eat and drink for a cause! There is no cover charge, and  
this is a family-friendly event. There will be a free shuttle from  
West Oakland BART and valet bicycle parking. $10 for souvenir glass

OAKLANDISH HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST
Saturday, October 31st, 11am-5pm
Corner of Piedmont Ave. and Pleasant Valley (in front of Harmony Road  
Music School)
We will be joining in the Piedmont Ave. Halloween parade and other  
festivities by holding a pumpkin carving contest. Bring your carved  
pumpkins to display on the corner. We will decorate the trees and  
parking lot outside of the Piedmont Piano Company with the pumpkins  
and judges will pick the winners.  There will be two categories-the  
lil' kids up through third grade, and bigger kids from 4th-8th grade.  
Prizes will be announced soon, so stay tuned...

SCRAPER BIKE DAY
Also on Halloween, 4pm
Fremont High School Campus
This event, put on by Original Scraper Bikes, one of the 2009 Oakland  
Innovators award winners, will feature live hip hop performances and  
will be followed by the annual Halloween Scraper Bike Ride.

OAKLANDISH CLEARANCE SALE
Starting Saturday, October 3rd, 9am-2pm
Grand Lake Famers' Market
The biannual Oaklandish Clearance Sale is coming up. Misprints,  
rarities, discontinued items, samples, and B-stock. One clearance t- 
shirt for $15, 2 for $20, and 3 for $25! Come through to the market!  
We'll have the clearance bins out at the Saturday Grand Lake farmers'  
market weekly from October 3 until it all sells out. The best finds  
get swooped up the first week!
