2008 OAKLAND INNOVATORS AWARD
Don't miss Oaklandish's 2008 arts funding opportunities. The  
application due date for all Arts-In-Action applicants and Oakland  
Innovators Award applicants has been extended to DECEMBER 8, 2008.

Arts-In-Action Grant: Oaklandish began as a covert public art campaign  
designed to bring a sense of history and culture to the underutilized  
public spaces of this city. Eight years later we continue that legacy  
by encouraging other local artists to create their own Oakland-centric  
works in the public realm. Local artists are invited to apply for a  
grant of up to $5,000.

Oakland Innovators Award: Oaklandish has created the Oakland  
Innovators Award, a fund that offers annual grants to organizations  
and individuals who are doing pioneering work in our community. This  
award is meant to offer recognition and financial support to local  
programs that exemplify the values of innovation and progress in all  
areas of civic life, including arts, education, technology, and  
business. Local innovators are invited to apply for a grant of up to  
$5,000. Total grant fund is currently $25,000.

2ND ANNUAL HALLOWEEN SCRAPER BIKE RIDE
Oaklandish sponsored the 2nd Annual Halloween Scraper Bike Ride on  
10/31/08 outfitting all the riders involved with the event in

TOWN PARK: GIVE THANKS SKATEBOARD COMPETITION

CHARLEY AND HUMPHREY
Those Bay Area kids who watched KTVU Channel 2 during the 70's & 80's  
will be very pleased to see these old PSA clips of "Charley and  
Humphrey", the endearing puppets created & voiced by local personality  
Pat McCormick.  For years it was believed that the original tapes had  
been destroyed and lost forever, but now they have been revived with
