This Friday at Oaklandish, 411 2nd Street, off Broadway in Oakland 
Lae's CD release party is Happenin. Live showcase with his band Ranch 
Hand Brown. this is going to be off the chain.
 
This LaeCharles Lawrence is the maverick talent behind the 10 bumping 
tracks on LAE IS TRAPPER THE RAPPER. The album is a local hip-hop 
narrative minus the tired and gratuitous gun battling, ho-pimping and 
bling-bling extravagance that litters so much mainstream rap music. 
Instead it's an introduction to an artist struggling to survive a 
check to check reality; who refuses to give up dreams of music 
industry success despite the setbacks of 15-day notices and exorbitant 
insufficient funds fees. In line with the missions of both Oaklandish 
and Epic Arts LAE IS TRAPPER THE RAPPER is an East Bay tale that 
refuses to use superfluous violence, crime and inflated egotism and 
dramatization of a lifestyle lived by the few and desired by the 
masses. It's lately, it's local and it's quintessentially keeping it 
real.
