SALSA BY THE LAKE
Save the Date: Sunday, May 31st from 1:00 to 6:00pm
The yearly Oaklandish Salsa by the Lake will kick off the lovely summer season with the amazing Salsa band "Rumbache." Don't miss the free salsa dance lessons and great music! Last year the event was unfortunately canceled at the last minute due to construction by the pergola at Lake Merritt. Well, guess what's happening by the lake this year, and until 2010? Construction!! So, we've decided to relocate Salsa by the Lake and make it "Salsa Near the Lake." It's going to be just a hop, skip, and a salsa turn away at Splash Pad Park, the location of the Grand Lake Farmers' Market on Grand Ave. Don't sleep on it! Summer is here! (even if the weather's acting all crazy).

CAPTURE THE FLAG
Another exciting announcement is the long-awaited return of Capture the Flag! People keep asking us about it, and we've heard from some of the most die-hard Oakland Capture the Flag fans that it's making a comeback this summer!! One week from today, Tuesday May 5th: Capture The Flag is back at Frank Ogawa Plaza (14th and Broadway) 7:30pm, show up/meet&greet; 8:00pm, rules/teams/game on!
